Have you ever know anyone who was a spoiled brat? Of course you have. Their parents gave them everything they wanted and when they didn’t get what they wanted they threw a tantrum and eventually got what they wanted anyway. They thought the world revolved around them. We all believe that giving someone everything they think they want, when they want it is not a good idea. We might call that person insufferable, egotistical, arrogant.

Romans 8:15–18 (NASB95) 15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

God’s word says that suffering helps us not be insufferable and prepares us for glory. There is something about it that bubbles to the surface all the things that need to be refined out of us and helps us to refocus on the important things in Christ. It doesn’t hurt us, ultimately, in Christ it actually turns out for our good.

Romans 8:28 (NASB95) 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

I love you. We continue the series called Pray like this. Hope you will join use, and the children will be singing. So, come for that too.
