Last night while our young adults LifeGroup was meeting at the church a bullet came through one of the small upper windows. It went through the wall and into the hall and lodged in the sheetrock in the hall. The Sunnyvale police officer who came explained that there had been a road rage incident on the freeway and someone fired three shots, one into a car, one into our building and one unknown destination. Tim was standing in the room talking about God’s faithfulness when the bullet went a few feet over hi head. Crazy right?
Being a Christian doesn’t exempt us from the crazy world around us. Jesus prayed for us in John 17:15 (NIV) My prayer is not that you take them out of the world, but that you protect them from the evil one. God has put us right in the muddle of the world because that is the only way to make a difference and to introduce the Kingdom of God in our midst. That is our hope in the midst of an evil world, that God is faithful, that God is with us and that God will see us through evil that comes.
