EXPRESS FAITH IN GOD’S POWER

“…FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM AND THE POWER AND THE GLORY FOREVER…”

Today is day 21! The final day of our 3 weeks of prayer. We hope that during this time you have started developing a regular time of prayer with the Lord. We hope that you have heard from God and experienced His presence like never before. We hope that you have grabbed onto God’s Word like never before and have found the promises of His character and your identity. 

As we finish this last day of prayer together, I encourage you to write down what God did during this time. We forget so easily, but one of the most powerful things we can do is to remember. Remember what God did for you. Remember what God spoke to you. Remember what God has done in lives of your family and your friends. Remember how your prayer life has changed. 

Two weeks ago I challenged you to ask God to speak to you specifically about the area of your life He wants to grow this year.  I encouraged you to use our Life Statements and how they tie into the conditions of your walk with Jesus as guides to help you pinpoint where God wants to work on your heart. I asked you to write that down and pray over it, but to also remember and write down a time in the past where God showed up. Then, to look at both of those things that you wrote down and also write “SAME GOD” either next to those or under them. Then praise and thank Him for it.

So whatever or wherever God has spoken to you and is leading you or challenging you in your life, I want to encourage you to keep praying over it. Keep asking God for His help and guidance in it. Maybe you are still struggling with clarity about what’s next. I want to encourage you to keep praying, keep listening, keep seeking and do the next right thing in front of you.

What does that look like? Well it means continue to spend time in His word. Continue to set aside time to pray. Continue to commit to gathering in fellowship with us at church. Pastor David talked last week about how there is breakthrough and freedom that we only experience when we gather as a congregation. Commit to giving yourself fully to the Life Jesus intends you to live as a disciple.

Okay, its Sunday and we can’t be together today. But, I encourage you if you haven’t planned on it yet, come to church next Sunday. Come and be in God’s presence with His people. Come and hear His word in song and in teaching. Come and fellowship and love on His people with us. Celebrate what God is doing in your life. Bring your time, talent and treasure to God’s community as an offering and celebration of who He is in your life. When we do this we are proclaiming this last phrase of the Lord’s prayer with our lives: “Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever.”

But today I want to encourage you to take some time, (I know its probably crazy or different because of the conditions) worship the Lord. Acknowledge God for all that He has done and is doing and take some time to pray over you walk with the Lord, your family and the piece of the world that God has put you in to show what He is like.

‘Yours, Lord , is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord , is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. ‘

1 Chronicles 29:11-14 NIV

‘I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. ‘
Ephesians 3:16-19

PRAY THIS:

God, we proclaim that we were made for you. All that we are and have was made for your glory. Thank you Jesus for rescuing us from the dominion of darkness and bringing us into your kingdom of life and light. Thank you for teaching us how to pray Jesus. Thank you for giving us everything we need to live for you. Give us your grace and strength to keep seeking you and prioritizing prayer. Lead us continually to you and your presence. Lord have your way in our lives. Strengthen us with your Spirit so that Jesus can dwell in our hearts. Let us be rooted and grounded in your love, so that together with your people we can understand how wide, long, high and how deep your love is for us.  Amen
